Ingredients | |
Chiroti Rava/Semolina | 2 cups |
Onion finely chopped | 1 |
Green chillies chopped | 3 |
Parsley/Coriander leaves chopped | 1 & 1/2 cup |
Water | 1 & 1/2 cup |
Salt | 1/2 tsp |
Oil | 1/2 tsp |
Mix Rava, Onion, Green chillies, Coriander leaves and salt with water and make a soft dough. Let the dough be soft but not too watery.
Let the dough stand for 10 - 15 minutes.
Coat a pan with oil using your fingers.
Using your palm, slowly tap and spread the dough into a thin circle. Mum used to make those holes to sprinkle oil but I make it just for the look of mom made rotti. :D
Cook it in medium heat and turn it over to cook it on the other side.
Serve hot with any chutney or pickle.
- You can add grated veggies like carrot, beetroot, cucumber or parsnip.
- Wash the tava with cold water before you tap the dough for next rotti since the dough sticks to the hot pan and you will not be able to tap the rotti properly.
- If you are using a non stick pan, there is no need to apply oil every time.
- You can cover and cook for softer rottis and they come out crispy if cooked without cover.
